The Greater Love Church

BACKGROUND

Founded in 2017, The Greater Love Church (T.G.L) is a non-denominational multicultural church led by Pastor Bonnie Bahati. It was commissioned by Pastor Jimmy Macharia from Harvest Family Church ministries.

The Greater Love church is part of the Harvest family Ministries International, which is led by Pastor Jimmy Macharia.

Founding 21

When the church began, it held its services in a dining hall with a membership of 21 young people attending. By the grace of God, the church was able to build an upper extension to the dining hall which was named ‘The Upper room’ in 2019 to accommodate the growing attendance and in just 2 years, the church grew to a membership of 500+.

7 Branches

With the increased attendance, the Greater Love Church moved to a bigger space located at Tumaini, Ongata Rongai . The church has then grown from that dining hall with 21 members to having over 7 branches globally and growing.

Milestones

2017: TGL comes alive
The Greater Love Church was birthed in 2017 as a church to accommodate young adults by Pastor Jimmy Macharia who commissioned Pastor Bonnie Bahati to start this great work. The first service was held in a smoky dining hall at the Great Grace Hostel in Ongata Rongai with an attendance of only 21 young people

2019: From the smoky dining hall to The Upper Room
Less than 2 years in, the dining hall space became too small to accommodate the growing congregation. We demolished the dining hall space and started the construction of a new sanctuary which we called The Upper Room that could accommodate around 200 people.
2019
2020: The Exodus Journey
3 years in, we outgrew the space and started trusting God to be in our own land. We then started The Exodus Journey to build our current sanctuary.
2020
2021: Rongai and Beyond
We grew with missionaries being sent out to begin TGL ELDORET, TGL MACHAKOS and TGL NYERI.
2021
2022: Going beyond the borders
Two more branches were opened; TGL Thika and TGL Manchester in the United Kingdom.

2023: Expansion continues

TGL Kisumu was birthed bringing the branches to a total of 6.
